My uncle Pedrinho do Engenho
Cel. Pedrinho do Engenho born in March, 25, 1908, in Silvestre Ferraz- Minas Gerais, acctually Carmo de Minas - Minas Gerais. He died in São Lourenço - Minas Gerais. 
He was trained as a pharmacist, but his love was the breeding of the Fila Brasileiro.
He was a great breeder and sent many dogs around the world.
Cel. Pedrinho do Engenho  breeding followed the footsteps of his brother in law "Joaquim José Junqueira de Souza" and grandfather "Joaquim José de Faria e Souza", who had been breeding Filas since  1850. Their filas was utilizadet as working animals and aided them in hearding catle and protectin their farm from Jaguars and thiefs.
Minas Gerais is considereted the area were "the authentic filas brasileiros" were raised for centuries.
Serra de Itanhnadu Kennels are devoted to the breeding of the best and the most outstanding Filas. We at Serra de Itanhandu Kennels, strive to maintain the purity of the Fila Brasieliro, a tradition that defined the Minas Gerais Farms for four hundred years .
Old Farm Filas were bred to be unsurpassed in their guardianship, coirage, tenacy and the ability to learn the difficult task of cattle herding. Their toughness is matched only by their devotion and love for their human families and their children.
